The content on this site is built entirely from the ideas and comments that you submit. With this in mind, there are some ground rules we ask that you follow to make sure we keep this a constructive and inviting environment for all employees.
- Be Constructive — Criticism must be constructive, well-meaning, and well-articulated. Please, no tantrums. Rants directed at any other contributor are simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The same goes for profanity.
- Respect Diversity — It's an ethnically rich and diverse, multi-cultural world in which we live. Use no language that is—or that could be construed to be—offensive toward others. Racists, sexist, and heterosexist comments and jokes are unacceptable, as are derogatory and/or sarcastic comments and jokes directed at religious beliefs, disabilities, and age.
- Be Patient — Read everything in the discussion thread before replying. This will help you avoid repeating something someone else has already contributed. Acknowledge the points made with which you agree and suggest alternatives for those with which you don't.
Submissions that are off-topic will be moved to an "off-topic" area by Moderators and not included in the formal campaigns for further consideration. Some ideas will not be accepted for consideration and will be moved to the off-topic list or removed from the system. These are ones which:
- Express personal grievances.
- Recommend changes in pay or classification.
- Advocate increased new taxes or fees or creation of additional revenue by imposition of an inequitable or unjust tax.
- Involve terms and conditions of employment which are subject to the collective bargaining process under the Ralph C. Dills Act.
Idea or comment submissions that violate Department policies will be reported to the employee's supervisor for further action. This generally includes content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, indecent, confidential or offensive. Users are encouraged to review Director's Policies DP-18-R1 Workplace Violence Prevention, DP-01-R10 Equal Employment Opportunity, DP-02-R2 Ethics, and Deputy Directives DD-49-R4 Sexual Harassment Prevention and DD-54 Information Technology Use Standards.
